Jersey’s politicians will debate whether or not the island should introduce speed cameras.
The proposal comes just days after the Isle of Man agreed to begin a speed camera trial.
If members do approve the proposition from St John Constable Chris Taylor, they will have to change traffic laws dating back to 1956.
It would also be a few years before the cameras are introduced, if they’re approved – and they would be mobile units which would move around the island instead of having set positions.
Constable of St Clement Len Norman said it would be an additional piece of technology to help fight speeding.
