The JSPCA has launched an emergency appeal for donations after having to cancel many fundraising events due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Shelter remains closed to the public unless they have appointments, buying food from the shelter or for emergencies.
In a post online they say:
The situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to change but one thing that will remain is our priority to help animals in need.
With our 24 hour ambulance service, on site vets and committed animal care teams, we will continue to do everything we can to rescue, rehabilitate and care for the wildlife and animals in need. We are already experiencing extra strain at the Animals’ Shelter and with the uncertain situation progressing, we are expecting to lose many of our vital donations as we are having to stop our face to face fundraising events, as are the organisations that were due to host fundraising events on our behalf.
Please remember we receive no state funding and solely rely on the generosity of Jersey islanders to enable us run the Animal’s Shelter and now, more than ever, we need your help.
